what is rumspringa?
The word “rumspringa” loosely translated as “running around” is derived from the rich Pennsylvania German heritage of Lancaster County. A popularized view of “rumspringa” reflects on the term used to describe a temporary period when young members of Amish communities start dating and going places on their own, exploring activities in the “outside world” that their elders may not approve of. But all of this happens before making the decision to officially join the church and remain true to their faith, as most do.
Similarly, the brewers at Rumspringa Brewery have chosen to remain true to their brewing techniques by hand-crafting beers using locally grown products and pains-taking processing, rather than following the main stream applications of large production facilities.

This Wheat Ale brewed in the “Northeast IPA” style is unfiltered and extremely hazy in appearance. The use of wheat malt and more than 1IB/barrel of Citra brand hops creates a “juicy” hop characteristic with a low hop bitterness, but a strong hop flavor and aroma.
