Our Dunkelweisse beer is a dark twist to our traditional south German-style wheat beer Hefeweizen. It is brewed with 40% wheat malt, 45% 2-row malted barley, and the other 15% of the grain bill are dark specialty malts giving the beer a deep brown color and slightly malty character. Just like the standard Hefeweizen, the beer is unfiltered and the Bavarian yeast strain used for fermentation produces hints of banana and clove. A touch of German noble hops are added to the boil balancing the malt with a slight hint of spicy hop character.
